Banning books? Really?

Everything I needed to know about Sarah Palin to make up my mind.
"Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor."
This paragraph is about halfway through the article.
Frankly, I can think of few things a politician could do that strike me as more offensive. Tipper Gore is a First Amendment hero next to this woman. What a ridiculously bad choice for national office.

2) She allows me to use the word "demesne."
3) BONUS attribute! She keeps pesky cops off the street (and out of my goddamn backyard).
