Years ago, I read books by the beat nick author William S. Brroughs. While in South America (I believe) Mr. Burroughs befriended a ferry pilot named Clark. Captain Clark was a successful accident free pilot for 23 years. Then one day, on his 23rd launch, his boat sank, and many died. So, Burroughs found "Captain Clark welcomes you aboard" one of his favorite ominous greetings. For many years, my user name was CaptainClark23. But then the movie "The Number 23" came out and eliminated much of the odd lure of that number. Really...it all connects in minute.
I love to crochet. I'm actually working on hats for young Master Stubbs, and will send them when they are done.
My name starts with a K. When ever I have to give my name I say "Kathryn with a K" I am very proud of being a K Kathryn, and not a C Catherine. Not that there is anything wrong at all with Catherine. I just love my K. So, I switched Captain to Kaptain, and Crochet to Kroshay.
Total goober stuff I know. And certainly not nearly as intellectual as having learned Greek as I child. Of that education, I am a bit jealous.
It's funny how some of my friends think of me as an intellectual, yet I look at the things other friends of mine know off the top of their head (Like Kato not just being O.J's long term house guest) I feel like my education is sorely lacking. Well, and really, I know it is....but I learn what I can when I can. Loving to read helps a lot....
Ok, now that I have poured a part of my soul out....
